CDisplay is another commonly used sequential image viewer which is mainly used as a comic reader for high quality image viewing. It is quite user friendly and better than other tools available in the market for the same purpose of image viewing. It is written in Borland C++ compiler 5.0 and is compatible to Windows 98, NT 4, 2000 and XP. Another Linux based open source version is also available. The main features of CDisplay are :

1. It supports all common image formats like JPEG, static GIF, PNG, BMP.
2. It can read data from rar archives and its own formats have extensions .cbr or .cbz.
3. The images displayed can be easily configured in terms of height, width and orientation and also colour balance.
4. Automatic Slideshow, page slider, thumbnails and easy scroll.
5. Resizing by Lanczos interpolation providing great image quality.
6. Favourites, bookmarks and history are the other useful options.
7. Windowed mode and fullscreen modes with mouse control options and program settings.

However, it cannot edit images and hence changes in view are only made while the original file remain untouched. It requires very less memory and causes no bloating issues.

Advantages:

  • Easy to use, user friendly.
  • Requires very little system resources.
  • Windows compatible.
  • Its a freeware and is best for comic reading.

Disadvantages:

  • No image editing tools are available.
  • It is no longer maintained.

...very limited, but it's a specific viewer anyway.

I really like CDisplay. Easy to read manga on and I use it for viewing my photos full screen - whole folders at a time too - and
it's quick and really easy to use.
